This is a stunning hotel, lovely rooms, well equipped and very stylishly decorated. The reception staff were outstanding, both during the booking procedure and on arrival. The grounds are delightful, and include a swimming pool. The restaurant excellent. Highly recommended.

Just spent a fine long weekend here, the restaurant is excellent and there are some great walking and cycling routes nearby - go to the tourist office in La Souterraine for details.

Love this part of france. Our stay here was lovely, the charming town of La Souterraine is only 10mins away so we went there when we weren't in the chateau. Food was fantastic and very tasty and our room had a gorgeous view across the lake. Staff very accomodating. Nice to have a walk around the site.

Interesting historic place. Lovely architecture inside and out. It's lovely to walk around the grounds, the lakes in particular are beautiful. The room was a corner room, great views across to the forest and to the old chateau. Meal was lovely and the little bar is unique. Sad to leave.

Magnificent, loved it, total relaxation and recuperation; only pity that my stay was so short this time.Fascinated by the history and the architecture - indulged without a doubt and look forward to another visit in the near future.

The staff were attentive, welcoming and genuinely concerned to make sure my sejour was perfect; answering my questions, providing information and suggestions on the local area of things to see and do - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Jolina and Ellie. Continental breakfast was excellent - lots of choices but my favourite aways the local cheeses, cured meats and fresh fruits. No shortage of hotels in Dubai or even a 7 star hotel - but this experience was on a different level. A very special experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Our first stay in a Chateau and our first trip to rural France.

There is a wonderful team of staff here that are a credit to the hotel.Rachel, Brigitte, Jolina, the Chefs and the lady staff member with excellent English who helped to communicate a meal for our son.

The Chateau is beautiful and we will always have fond memories of our stay. Our son loved the stay as all the staff went out of their way to be kind with him.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We were very impressed with the Chateau and the restaurant. We had a wonderful waitress called Jolina who interacted brilliantly with our 10 year old son, encouraging him with his French and complimenting him on his effort.
