Château de la Cazine is located in the department of Creuse in the least populated area of France, the dramatic Limousin region - known as the French ‘lake district'.

The historic regional capital of Limoges, an hour's drive from the château, shows off all that the region is famous for, particularly its international reputation for porcelain, enamel and stained-glass. Closer to the château (10 minutes by car), La Souterraine is a pretty medieval town with lovely features, historic landmarks and unique local shops, restaurants and cafes.

Just a few minutes' drive from the hotel by car or a delightful stroll away lies the quaint nearby village of Noth, which offers spectacular views of the château hotel from the opposite shores of the largest fishing lake close by.

You can take in the beauty that inspired Claude Monet to paint over 20 masterpieces just a few kilometres north of Château de la Cazine, walk in the tracks of countless pilgrims on the historic Santiago de Compostela, or cycle amongst the beauty of the two regional nature parks. There's so much to enjoy.

With fantastic transport connections from the air, rail and road, the setting of Château de la Cazine at Wyndham Halcyon Resort is the perfect location for a relaxing'll quickly fall in love.

Lost for words - 22nd March 2018 Fantastic place to have your wedding. Planned and booked quite a while ahead and visited the venue a year prior . Glad to say that everything went perfectly and the place exceeded expectations across the board. For those who are not French, consider reading a cultural book (even just a pamphlet) or two. It is not the UK and it is not America. You may need to follow up. You may need to take some initiative. If ...

David S - 1st November 2017 Interesting historic place. Lovely architecture inside and out. It's lovely to walk around the grounds, the lakes in particular are beautiful. The room was a corner room, great views across to the forest and to the old chateau. Meal was lovely and the little bar is unique. Sad to leave.

Heather C - 1st November 2017 Love this part of france. Our stay here was lovely, the charming town of La Souterraine is only 10mins away so we went there when we weren't in the chateau. Food was fantastic and very tasty and our room had a gorgeous view across the lake. Staff very accomodating. Nice to have a walk around the site.

Suz M - Facebook - 14th August 2017 Magnificent, loved it, total relaxation and recuperation; only pity that my stay was so short this time.Fascinated by the history and the architecture - indulged without a doubt and look forward to another visit in the near future. KarenA, Kettering, England - 1st June 2017 We stayed here for 2 nights. We were very impressed with the Chateau and the restaurant. We had a wonderful waitress called Jolina who interacted brilliantly with our 10 year old son, encouraging him with his French and complimenting him on his effort.   No kids menu here and we were concerned that our son would find nothing to eat, but the chef on both nights (30th and 31st May) cooked steak ...
