Summerlane2018 - 12th September 2018
We lunched at the chateau on a beautiful day in August. Although it was very quiet we had a very nice meal ordering from the Chateau cazine 3 course menu, where there were two choices for each course.
The restaurant staff were very friendly and although we were prepared to speak French their English was perfect. We were offered a choice of tables and elected to sit by the open door, which looked out across the grounds to a lake in the distance. Our meal was inventive, interesting and tasty, with a vegetarian choice had we wished. The portion size was perfect for us and the service timing was just right for a leisurely lunch.
Being very familiar with the Creuse region, we thought it was one of the best restaurants that we had visited in the area and the meal was well priced. This area of France needs our support as it is not on the obvious tourist trail but has many wonderful places around. Particularly if you enjoy out door sports, walking cycling, fishing, riding. It is also historically interesting. Please consider Chateau Cazine if you are in the region or heading down through France. It is also a hotel where you could consider an overnight stop in a tranquil location.
