We chose to stop over here on a drive from the Dordogne to Paris. The hotel is a superb and quiet chateau, with a golf course under development. The staff simply cannot do enough for the guests. They first took us to the room and insisted on unloading the car for us. The room, in a corner of the second floor, was oddly shaped, and the furniture was arranged in such a way as to make the best use of the space. It was so perfectly clean that we could have been easily convinced that no one had ever stayed in it before. The bed was comfortable, the lighting good, and the bathroom, with separate tub and shower, was exceptional.
A special 2 for 1 dinner was available, and we took advantage of that. The 2 for 1 offer included aperitifs or champagne if one was inclined. The set menu would have been a good value at 80 euros, at that price for 2 persons, it was an exceptional bargain. The wine list had several good values in it, and we took advantage of not having to drive after dinner and had a very nice bottle of Bordeaux with dinner. The only extra, as we expected, was an after dinner coffee.
Breakfast in the following morning, in the same dining room where dinner was offered, was a buffet supplemented by eggs if requested. There is no alternative for breakfast nearby, but we were very happy with this meal as well. The staff was beginning to set up for a wedding as we left, and we wished we could have stayed just to see how the hotel was set up for the event.
